Accessibility at Cipher

Cipher is built to be used with a keyboard, with a screen reader, with magnification, and with motion turned down. Our standard is WCAG 2.2 Level AA, across the website, the app, and the resume files Cipher produces.

What we check. We check the core loop (sign-up to download) with an automated keyboard walk and an automated accessibility check on every change. We have not yet tested with a screen reader.

Known exceptions, as of 22 October 2026.

• The PDF download is not yet a tagged PDF. A screen reader reads its text in order, but the file does not carry its heading structure. The Word download does. We expect tagged PDFs by 31 December 2026.
• While the PDF preview has focus, Escape may not close it in some browsers; the Close button always does.

Tell us. If something in Cipher doesn't work for you, write to hello@cipherresume.ai. Anything that stops you finishing a resume is the first thing we fix.
